Horsham District Council Chairman Cllr Christian Mitchell also attended the West Sussex County Scout Council AGM at Horsham Drill Hall on September 8.

He met West Sussex County Scout Council President Sir Brian Barttelot and County Chairman of West Sussex Scouting Sir Colin Field, and the County Commissioner Irene Orford and Regional Commissioner Ian Newberry, as well as Scouts from across Horsham district and West Sussex.

Cllr Mitchell said: “Scouting in West Sussex is flourishing and this is testimony to the hard work and dedication of their volunteers and leaders who ensure that as many youngsters as possible can benefit from the Scouting experience.

“Parents say Scouting gives their children more confidence, responsibility and chance to pursue things they might not get to do otherwise.

“The meeting and reception provided an opportunity to meet those that give up so much of their time for young people and thank them.”
