CHILDREN from key stage two were given the opportunity of mixing science with music for the day.

The aim of the day was to investigate sounds, make some musical instruments and composing some music.

During the morning the children learnt different ways in which music can be produced and how sound is transmitted.

They made their own musical instruments including melon drums, carrot flutes, milk bottle xylophones and straw recorders.

In the afternoon children used home made musical instruments to compose some music of their choice which they performed to the rest of the school.
