THE HORSHAM Town Community Partnership is meeting tonight (Wednesday) to discuss the progress on plans to launch new neighbourhood watch schemes and develop a riverside walk.

The group has a number of projects underway and they will all be discussed at the Annual General Meeting tonight.

One of the bigger projects they are working on and will consult in depth with the public about is the Riverside Walk.

Jane Apostolou from the HTCP said: “We are hoping to make certain sections of the Walk more user friendly

for recreational cyclists.

“This is especially so at the section of the Walk running from Redford Avenue to Guildford Road.

“This will help children to cycle in safety to Tanbridge House School and help connect cycle routes from east and west of the Town and to the South Downs link.

“This section of the Walk has been recommended by WSCC Local Transport Plan as a combined cyclist and pedestrian route.”

They would also like to see signage improved and information boards displaying wildlife to be installed along the walk.

However she emphasised that these are still ideas and a lot of consultation will be carried out before the project gets started.

Other work being discussed are plans to set up better provision for young people in the town and neighbourhoods and also new neighbourhood watch schemes.

Anyone can attended the meeting tonight at 7.30pm at the Horsham District Council Park North in the main council chamber.
