Businesses and organisations that sponsored a Christmas tree as part of Horsham’s festive decorations were recognised last Thursday.
Due to public pressure a Christmas tree has been provided in the Carfax near the Bandstand by Horsham District Council thanks to sponsors as part of the town centre’s Christmas lights after its omission last year.
Tracey Harris, joint managing director of Piries Place based-recruitment agency Harris Lord, said: “For 17 years we’ve been in the heart of Horsham and we just hope by sponsoring this tree it gives something back to the community for everybody to enjoy.”
Dale Jannels, of All Types of Mortgages in the Carfax, added: “I think it’s good to get into the festive spirit and we are happy to contribute and I think it’s good for local businesses to help with the funding and it’s all good for our town centre.”
Gill East, of East Street clothing store Tomoli&Will, said: “It’s important to have a tree for Christmas and I’m hoping as many people see the tree as possible and come into the town.”
