RESIDENTS are being asked to return their completed voter registration forms if they have not already done so.
The forms have been sent to every home in the Horsham District and, once returned, will be used to compile the electoral register that will be the basis for the possible elections for a local police commissioner in 2012, plus any unscheduled by-elections.
Registering to vote is simple, quick and easy. Just update the annual canvass form with the details of everyone in the household who is eligible to vote and return the form to Horsham District Council as soon as possible. If the details are the same, just sign the form and return it in the envelope provided.
This year’s referendum on the voting system was very high profile and it was pleasing to see the increase in registration shortly before polling day.
However, some people may not realise that they have to register every year by completing the annual canvass form that comes through everyone’s door.
