Record numbers of people have been visiting Horsham District Council’s Museum and Art Gallery in Horsham town centre this year.

Visitor numbers so far this year show that each month there has been an increase in the number of people coming to see the varied and interesting finds at the Museum in the Causeway in Horsham compared to last year.

Over 6,000 people visited the Museum in just one month this year, nearly 800 people more than in the same month last year!

Up until the end of October, the Museum had 38,240 visitors in the last six months compared to 34,275 visitors for the same time period last year.

The Museum is a service provided by Horsham District Council and is free for visitors to go and see.

Many different collections are on display at Horsham Museum and detailed information about exhibitions and more can be found on the Museum’s website www.horshammuseum.org.

Jonathan Chowen, Horsham District Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Heritage and Leisure, said: “This charming local museum continues to attract visitors, stimulated by the addition of the art gallery and an ever changing programme of topical events.

“The ever greater use of the Visitor Information Centre shows how Horsham Museum continues to attract growing numbers of visitors.”
