Cowfold Village History Society welcomes people to its Village History Day in the Village Hall on Saturday 27 October 11am – 6pm.

Entrance £2.50 for adults and £1 for children under 16 – CVHS members free.

People are invited to bring along their own research and talk to the stall holders:

“Who do you think you are?” Staff from the West Sussex Record Office will be able to give guidance to finding out ….

The Sussex Family History Group representatives can help with tracing ancestors – see www.sfhg.org.uk and click on Introduction.

Richard from Photographs Forever can restore badly damaged treasured photographs and albums. See: www.photographsforever.co.uk

Fowler Bros is Cowfold’s biggest and oldest employer (established in 1858). Recent research by CVHS members will be on display and we are very grateful for the Fowler Group’s interest in this project.

Stands will be run by various Village Groups (eg St Peter’s Church, Royal British Legion, Horticultural Society, Surgery, WI) displaying their history and activities. Some residents might find themselves in some of the old photographs!

Members of St Peter’s church will be running a Café serving refreshments and light lunches.

There will be a Children’s Quiz and a Raffle.

The proceeds of the day will be divided between the CVHS and St Peter’s church roof restoration project, which still requires £38,000 out of a total cost of £250,000 for final Phase of the roof works.
