RAIDERS stole £5,000 worth of stock from Trafalgar Cleaning Equipment in Horsham.

The showroom in Foundry Close was targeted on Thursday last week about 11.15pm.

Managing director Martin Bremner told the County Times: “Four guys in a white Mercedes van turned up. They jemmied the door open and smashed the front door.”

Mr Bremner said they had stolen large industrial vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners and pressure washers.

The stock was insured but he added: “It’s the grief that’s more of a blow to be honest with you. It just takes time out of your working life.

“We have got a front door which is smashed and mullered to pieces where they kicked it in.”

Mr Bremner said he was called out and was at the business until 3am on Friday but it still opened at 8.30am that day.

“It’s the third time now in two years”, he said, and the firm was looking at improving security.

“Having said that it took four people with jemmy bars three minutes 25 seconds to actually break through the front door. We’ve got it on CCTV.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1876 of May 12.
