Power cut affects thousands of customers

A power cut has affected more than 2,000 properties in Horsham earlier today (February 4).

Homes and businesses in and around the town centre including the Bishopric, The Forum, East Street and Brighton Road, lost their power for a short time this morning.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “A fault on an underground electricity cable interrupted power supplies to 2,386 customers in the Bishopric area of Horsham at 10.47am today.

“UK Power Networks engineers reconnected electricity supplies as quickly and safely as possible within four minutes. Some customers experienced further brief interruptions until 12.11, while we rerouted power supplies.

“UK Power Networks understands how frustrating it can be to have power interruptions and apologise to the customers affected.”
