Horsham Police is warning residents to stay vigilant after fake bank notes were discovered circulating in West Sussex.

Adur and Worthing Safer Communities Partnership has warned fake £50 and Scottish £20 notes are being used in the area.

The organisation said the notes were being used at service outlets and has asked people to inform the police if they discover a fake.

On Twitter Horsham Police has echoed this warning.

The force said: “Fake bank notes have been used in neighbouring Adur & Worthing. They may start being used in Horsham.”
