Police pursued a car through Crawley after it failed to stop for officers earlier this morning (Monday March 28).

Police said an untaxed car was spotted driving along Hazelwick Avenue at around 11.50am.

It failed to stop when signalled by officers and was pursued in the direction of County Oak retail park.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “As it saw us it nearly hit some parked cars.

“It was lost in the melee of cars at the retail park.”

A witness at the scene said: “It’s crazy mad as they have closed part of the car park.”

Police are still searching for the vehicle.
