Police appeal after woman dies in Cranleigh collision

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Cranleigh today (Tuesday October 20).

Police said the incident occurred in Ewhurst Road at 2.25pm when a grey Honda Civic and a pedestrian were involved in a collision outside the Three Horseshoes Pub.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver of the vehicle and the male passenger, both elderly, have been flown to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with serious injuries.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or the manner of driving of the Honda Civic prior to it to come forward.

Motorists are advised to find alternatives routes as the road is likely to remain closed for several hours while officers carry out their investigations.
