A woman died at the scene of a crash in Alfold this morning (Wednesday October 28).

The B2133 Loxwood Road was partly blocked near the junction with Rosemary Lane outside the Post Office from about 7.20am, following an accident involving two vehicles.

A white Citroen Berlingo van and a turquoise Toyota Starlet were involved in the incident.

A spokesman for SECAmb (South East Coast Ambulance) said two ambulances, three paramedic cars and one air ambulance crew in a car, attended the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A further patient was checked at the scene and did not need hospital treatment.

Surrey Police are now appealing for witnesses.

The road has now been re-opened.
