Matt Gittings, owner for the last ten years, said: “It has proved very, very successful. The practice has grown, we have had new staff and we wanted to expand our services.

“Someone came to me and said would you be interested in this property, it is a perfect site.”

Mr Gittings explained the plans will see it be a ‘a proper stand alone practice with offices, theatres, x-ray machines – hopefully a real facility’.

It is open for comment until August 25, with a decision due by September 15.
