A PayByPhone is now available at Horsham Hospital in Hurst Road after customers said they needed greater flexibility when visiting the hospital.
Horsham District Council (HDC) said occasionally appointments can overrun and this can cause a degree of difficulty for people who are visiting the outpatients department.
However with the PayByPhone option, visitors can get a text alert that advises them that their initial parking session is coming to an end and it gives them the option to buy more parking time without having to leave the waiting room.
Of course when attending minor injuries walk in, the last thing on visitors’ minds can be taking change for parking so the PayByPhone option overcomes this as it a cashless transaction which can assist anyone unfortunate enough to have to visit.
PayByPhone is now available in four of the Horsham town centre car parks, with Horsham Hospital joining Denne Road, North Street and Hurst Road (Pavilions in the Park).
Roger Paterson (Con,Pulborough and Coldwaltham), HDC’s cabinet member for the Local Economy, said: “It’s great to hear that the PayByPhone scheme is expanding once again in the town centre.
“I fully support this initiative that not only saves people time but, in addition, the convenience of the service leaves visitors to the hospital with one less thing to worry about.”
