Delivery company Hermes has apologised to Storrington residents who have complained about problems with packages.
Villagers told the County Times they were avoiding the firm after parcels were late, missing, or left in inappropriate places.
Hermes spokesman Chris Dolan said: “Recent heavy volumes have led to a small number of issues with deliveries in the village, which have now been resolved.
“In order to provide a better service across the region we have recently strengthened our local delivery proposition.
“We deliver 245m parcels across the UK each year and the vast majority are delivered on time and without any problems.
“As a business reliant on people, we are constantly striving to improve our performance, and we apologise to those in Storrington who have been affected.”
