Just across the road from one another await two gardens which are visually two worlds apart.
To the left is a snug space of bright pink, yellow, and orange neatly lined around a vivid green lawn.
To the right awaits a gateway to a small woodland filled with ferns, trees and wild creatures.
“The problem with a wildlife garden is that it’s full of wildlife.”
Les White is offering his garden, at the ‘Nook’, New Road, Southwater, for public viewing during an open gardens day on Sunday July 22.
Ann and Peter Frecknall’s garden, over the road at ‘Mansfield’, will also be on offer for a completely different, less jungle adventure like, viewing experience.
Other gardeners getting involved are Jenny Ansell, of 9 Hazel Close, Southwater, and Anne and Mike Tuckwell, of 22 Blanches Road in Partridge Green.
Entry to the gardens is from 2pm-5pm for just £1 and proceeds will go to the Southwater Horticultural Society. For more information call Peter and Nancy Buckley on 01403 730499.
