Part of the old Kings Head Hotel could be turned into a Nando’s restaurant under new plans.

The popular chain has submitted a planning application to Horsham District Council for change of use, internal and external alterations, and the removal of the existing redundant plant for the site on the corner of the Carfax and East Street.

Earlier this year the County Times reported on Nando’s interest in opening a Horsham branch.

It is rumoured the chain was also looking into a premises in the Bishopric.

The Kings Head Hotel closed down in 2004, with Italian restaurant Ask opening on part of the site in 2012, while Cote Brasserie also opening in East Street.

Part of the premises facing on to East Street remains unoccupied.
