Mourners have expressed their shock and sadness at the death of legendary entertainer Norman Wisdom - who in fact passed away five years ago.
An old BBC article reporting on the comic actor and former West Sussex resident’s death has been posted on Twitter.
Dozens of social media users appear to have been duped into thinking he died recently, with many paying tribute to Sir Norman.
One Twitter user wrote: “RIP Norman Wisdom died on Monday night aged 95yrs. True gentleman and great comedian.”
Sir Norman died at a nursing home on the Isle of Man in October 2010, aged 95.
He lived in West Chiltington for many years, and during that time was president of the Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.
His son, Nick, is the current owner of Wisdom Sports in Haywards Heath.
Sir Norman was best known for his slapstick film role in the 50s and 60s, and his famous roles playing Norman Pitkin. He later became a cult figure in Albania.
