Children and staff at a local Montessori are celebrating an outstanding start to their Spring term this year, as their nursery has just been recognised as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

Bobtails Montessori, in Adversane near Billingshurst, was awarded the coveted status just before Christmas.

Montessori principal, Pat West, said, “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved Outstanding status, especially since Ofsted have tightened their rules and that award is now even harder to get.”

“We always strive to provide the best environment for the children and ensure their time at Bobtails is happy and productive, but it’s wonderful to see our hard work recognised in this way,” she added.

Just some of the quotes from the Ofsted report include:

“Staff have an exceptionally nurturing relationship with all of the children and deploy themselves extremely effectively at all times. Children behave exceptionally well, staff are motivational which inspires the children to learn.”

“The quality of teaching is excellent and show extremely effective teaching skills when working alongside children. Staff offered high levels of praise, which developed children’s self-esteem and encouraged them to have a go and persevere.”

“Children are extremely happy within the setting and are thriving. The environment is consistently harmonious and calm.”
