A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest at Horsham railway station.

Emergency services were called after a man, believed to be in his 40s and from Germany, fell ill on the platform just before 11.30pm last night (Wednesday June 26).

Paramedics attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said: “BTP officers attended Horsham rail station on Wednesday, 26 June after a report that a man had been taken ill on the platform.

“The incident was reported to BTP at 11.29pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended, but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

She continued: “The man, believed to be in his 40s and from Germany, is thought to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

“BTP officers are currently working to contact the man’s family.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
