Man fined for supplying alcohol to youngster in Horsham

AN 18-YEAR-OLD has been issued with an £80 fixed penalty notice for supplying alcohol to a minor, say police.

The offence happened during the evening of April 1 at the recreation ground at the rear of the Sainsburys store on Worthing Road, Horsham.

The man had purchased cans of lager which he admitted he had given to a 14-year-old youth. He was stopped by the local Street Scene Warden.

The young person’s mother was contacted and she had to collect her son because of the alcohol he had consumed, police told the County Times this week. The matter was reported to the force and the man was later issued with the fine.
