Man dies after Cowfold crash

A man has died after a crash in Cowfold over the weekend.

Emergency services were called to a crash on the A281, near the junction with Picts Lane, at around 12.45pm on Saturday November 14.

Police said two cars, a BMW and a VW Polo, were involved in the collision.

A 21-year-old man, who had been a passenger in the BMW 318, was flown to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, London, with serious head injuries and has since died, police have said.

A 20-year-old woman driving the BMW and a 23-year-old woman driving the VW Polo, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with serious injuries.

The road was closed in both directions for more than five hours while the crash was investigated and the scene cleared.
