There is now less than one month to nomination someone special for one of the County Times prestigious Community Awards.

It can be a group or an individual who has inspired you for standing up for what they believe in and being a hero of the community.

In the County Times one of the most common stories featured is of someone raising money for a cause close to their heart.

In last year’s Community Awards one special fundraiser was honoured for her outstanding dedication to MacMillan Cancer Support.

Ahead of the glitzy ceremony at the Capitol, Horsham, Jenny Kern and others had raised a staggering £696,000 in 19 years for Macmillan nurses.

She has held coffee morning and film shows in the Billingshurst and Pulborough areas.

No results are ever revealed to any of the recipients before their name is called out on the night.

Like many of our winners, she was overwhelmed to be honoured and paid tribute others.

She said: “Local people are amazing. We put on events and the support we receive from local people is phenomenal.”

The deadline for nominations is October 1 and the awards ceremony will be held on November 16.

To make your nomination fill out an online form or find the form in the County Times.
