Work could start next month on 14 dwellings on a notorious derelict site in Roffey.

Guinness Trust gained planning permission from Horsham District Council for the scheme on the corner of Crawley Road and Littlehaven Lane in 2012, but due to funding issues there were suggestions last year that the housebuilding might not go ahead.

It demolished the derelict buildings in October last year after North Horsham Parish Council pushed for action to tidy up the ‘eyesore’.

At a NHPC planning meeting on Thursday February 13 it was announced by the chairman that a building constructor had been appointed and work was due to start on March 10, and completion due by February 2015.
