Police are trying to identify a man who punched a woman dog walker in the chest in Storrington.

The attack took place at around 11.15am on Monday (December 10) as the victim walked her pet on its lead at Sullington Warren.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “A man approached her with a golden retriever, which was not on a lead, and the two dogs started barking at each other.

“At this point, the man kicked the victim’s dog twice and then punched her to the chest as he shouted and swore at her.

“The offender is described as white, approximately 5’6” tall, of stocky build, in his mid 40s, with very short dark hair and dark coloured eyes. He was wearing dark green/brown combat clothing, was carrying a rucksack on his back and was wearing earphones.

“If anyone recognises this man or has any information regarding this incident

then please contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 277 11/12.”
