Video and photos: Woman held captive

A WOMAN in her late fifties was left terrified after two men broke into her flat and held her captive in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday).

The woman, who lives at Burton Close, Copnall Way, off the Park Way, in Horsham town centre, was unable to get neighbours to raise the alarm for half an hour to an hour.

The men broke in at about 7.30am and it is not known what they took and police are waiting to issue full descriptions.

Horsham district commander, detective inspector Pierre Serra was at the scene.

He said: "This was a particularly unpleasant crime and very unusual for Horsham.

"We are investigating an incident where a woman has been subject to a robbery at her home address.

"It is early stages of the investigation and we are looking for two white men but we have not got full descriptions at the moment."

The woman was still with paramedics at 10.30am and although she suffered no serious injuries, she was distressed.
