Video - Woman with 17 dogs evicted

A HOMELESS woman with 17 Alsation dogs has been evicted from council land in Southwater where she had been living in a tent for four weeks.

Former kennel maid Kim Waite, 40, set up camp with her pack of adult Alsations and 8 puppies just off Shipley Road, Southwater, because she could not bear being parted with them.

But, after complaints from residents about the noise and smell, Horsham District Council took action and issued Kim with an eviction notice on Friday.

County Times reporter Theo Cronin was there and has made a special video report about the day's events, which passed peacefully thanks to the commitment of Horsham based organisations Animal Services and Allsorts Dog.

Since the making of the film, Kim Waite has spent the weekend at a roadside hotel in Dorking with two of her dogs, whilst the rest are in temporary housing with Animal Services.
