VIDEO: Storrington pupil tells of ‘terrifying’ coach fire
A nine-year-old Storrington girl has told of how a coach she was travelling on burst into flames during a school trip on Friday January 25.
Lucy Rowsell was among around 60 other children and teachers from Storrington First School when a blaze broke out in the engine during a day visit to Beaulieu Motor Museum.
The pupil and two others were rushed to hospital after suffering smoke inhalation.
All the passengers left the coach after it pulled up outside Whiteways Cafe near Bury Hill and were taken to another nearby coach.
Lucy said many pupils found the incident ‘terrifying’.
