Video: flooding risk remains
The risk of flooding remains across West Sussex, and is likely to remain for the coming days
The county council has said that residents in flood risk areas should be alert and prepared to respond, and take steps to protect their properties and sign up for flood alerts from Environment Agency.
For flooding updates consult the Environment Agency http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk or to discuss a flood risk call 0845 988 1188
Residents are also being asked to follow the advice on the County Council’s website http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/living/emergency_services/preparing_and_dealing_with/severe_weather/flooding.
Surface water is making driving conditions dangerous, and drivers are advised to take extra care, slow down, and not to drive in flood waters, especially on dark roads where they may not see surface water in front of them.
The council is working closely with partners to respond and protect areas at highest risk and keep roads open, and appreciate the public patience with the disruption at this difficult time.
