UPDATE: Severe weather warning upgraded to amber
A severe weather warning for heavy rain in the South East of England for today and Thursday has been upgraded from yellow to amber.
According to the Met Office the South Coast will be battered by heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening, continuing well into Thursday.
It said the public should be prepared for an increased risk of both surface water and river flooding.
