Top broadcast journalist Nicholas Owen will be at Storrington library next week to talk about life in the public eye.

The BBC and ITV newsreader, who started his career at the Daily Telegraph in 1968, will be speaking at the branch on Thursday March 21.

He will also be showcasing and signing copies of his autobiography, Days Like This, at the event from 7pm.

It is the second year running that the broadcaster has appeared at a West Sussex library – having visited Crawley last April.

He will also be at the Chichester branch on May 21 before speaking in Durrington on June 24 to help mark its 75-year anniversary.

Lionel Barnard, County Council Deputy Leader responsible for the Library Service, said: “This will be an excellent opportunity to hear from one of the country’s best known journalists about news reporting from behind the camera.

“Nicholas has a great knowledge of the media having worked for many national newspapers and as ITVs royal correspondent – during which time he reported on the death of Princess Diana.”

Tickets for all three events cost £3 and are available from each library.
