Travellers in Horsham are moved on - video

TRAVELLERS who set up camp in the centre of Horsham on Monday have been moved on today (Friday June 19).

For five days residents on the Needles Estate complained about the temporary site established on grassland, next to a stream, at the end of Deer Way.

Liz Creswick, the principal solicitor for Horsham District Council, said it has been the first time the authority had been called in to deal with travellers this year.

She spoke to County Times reporter Theo Cronin at the site today (Friday June 19) lunchtime just after the travellers were served with the notice of eviction.

Since the recording of the video interview the travellers have stopped on private land, south of Horsham between the town and Mannings Heath.
