Two people have been arrested after police raided a suspected cannabis growing facility at an address near Horsham yesterday morning (Thursday November 8).
At 7am local Neighbourhood Policing officers executed a search warrant at a cottage and barn in Bar Lane, off the A24 south of Horsham.
Police seized from the barn 160 cannabis plants in varying stages of growth, with an estimated potential yield of some £180,000 per year.
A 36-year old woman and a 35-year old man were arrested at the address on suspicion of production of cannabis, theft, money laundering, and abstraction of electricity.
They were later released on police bail until February 9 2013 while police enquiries continue.
Officers also seized vehicles including a car, a horse box and four motor cycles, laptops, £1800 cash, and correspondence.
Inspector Clare McKnight said; “This operation was a result of information from the public, and we are grateful for the support we receive for our continuing efforts to combat drug misuse in the area.”
