Splash of colour proves Christmas is on its way
This was the magnificent sight at a nursery near Chichester the day before 65,000 poinsettia plants began to make their journeys to the homes of people across the country before Christmas.
The poinsettia, or Christmas plant as it is known, is big business for Roundstone Nurseries in Lagness, which has been busy growing more than 150,000 of the plants to sell to Sainsbury's supermarkets nationally.
Mandy Newell is pictured among the beautiful plants as, in the past week, the poinsettias have left the nursery and been transported for sale.
Look out for a feature in the coming weeks telling the story of the scarlet plant which has become synonymous with the festive season.
