Search teams were out in Horsham last night, looking for a missing 14 year old.

Police say they are particularly concerned for Oliver Godby because he has learning difficulties and may struggle to cope in unfamiliar places.

Oliver lives in Maidenbower but has family in Horsham.

He was last seen in Woodland Avenue, Burgess Hill, around 5pm on Tuesday. He had been to the town with his father that day.

Police were called at 7.30pm, and began searches in Horsham, Burgess Hill and Maidenbower.

A statement from Inspector Shane Lambert said: “Oliver has gone missing on a couple of occasions before, but only for a few hours.

“We are concerned as although he is a strapping lad of nearly 6ft, he has a learning age of only about eight or nine and is therefore extremely vulnerable.

“He does tend to shy away from people and likes ‘scary’ places such as graveyards.

“While we think he may well be trying to head for Horsham, he could be anywhere in the mid or north Sussex area. If you see him, please call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1674.

“If he is in danger or needs medical attention, please dial 999 immediately.”

Oliver is described as 5ft 11ins, of medium build with blond hair and wearing a green/grey patterned T-shirt, black and white shorts and flip flops.
