An 18-month programme of roadworks on the A24 near Horsham is set to start today (Monday June 9).

The dual carriageway south of the Farthings Hill roundabout will remain open, but will be restricted to a single lane with a 40mph speed limit.

A new junction will link the developments either side of the A24 including the new Broadbridge Heath bypass.

The works will take place between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and when necessary between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.

Speaking about the works, a spokesperson from J Breheny Contractors, said “Whilst the works are underway the dual carriageway will remain open, restricted to a single lane with a 40mph speed limit and width restriction in both directions.

“These measures are in place to protect our workforce and motorists and reduce the overall time the works will take. We advise people using this section of the A24 during peak hours to leave extra time for their journeys, in case of delays.”

For more information visit the works website or its Twitter page for up-to-date information about the construction activity and future night closures.

Regular updates will also be available via email for people wishing to register their email details at info@a24horsham.co.uk
