Road safety improvements for children

New warning signs to keep children safe are being introduced outside a school in Haywards Heath this week.

As part of the School Safety Zone scheme new warning signs with an advisory 20mph speed limit and flashing orange lights will be installed either side of Northlands Wood School in Beech Hill.

'SLOW' markings and red anti-skid surfacing will also be laid on the road next to the signs.

The 7,400 West Sussex County Council scheme is scheduled to take up to three days to complete, weather permitting.

Work will be carried out between 7am and 7pm and starts on Wednesday June 3.

On-street parking may be restricted at times.
