Ricky Butler murder trial latest - friend's call to Martin after attack
RICKY Butler's killer threatened to 'blow up' anyone who came to his house after the incident, a court was told.
Richard Martin, 19, of Heath Way, Horsham, has denied murdering popular Forest School boy Ricky, 15.
He also denies wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to another teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Nathan Gray, a friend of Martin's at the time, phoned him a few minutes after the incident outside a party in Gorringes Brook, Horsham.
"He said it wasn't him," he told the court.
Speaking at the trial at Lewes Crown Court on Friday August 22, he said Martin seemed 'totally calm' during that first phonecall.
However, with everyone who had been at the party insisting that it had been Martin who attacked the two victims, Mr Gray phoned him again.
"He said: 'Stop ringing me, if anyone comes to my house, I'm gonna be blowing them up,'" said Mr Gray.
Speaking to police, he described Martin as a 'very laid back and chilled out boy' who he would never expect to start a fight.
