Resurfacing planned on major Horsham road

NIGHT time resurfacing work at the A264 Farthings Hill Interchange is due to begin on Thursday July 9.

Lane and road closures will necessary during the work.

This will include shutting parts of the roundabout itself and the A24 slip roads, but signed localised diversions will be in place during this time.

The work will begin at 7pm and continue until 6am to minimise disruption to motorists.

The West Sussex County Council scheme is costing 120,000 and will take five nights to complete, weather permitting.

Derek Whittington, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning and Transport, said: "This interchange is used by thousands of motorists everyday. To ensure their safety, it is necessary to carry out this work as the road was becoming worn out.

"By working overnight, disruption to drivers will be kept to a minimum."
