Reminder about council tax benefit

Residents in the Horsham District who claim a single person discount on council tax are being asked to let Horsham District Council know if their circumstances change.
At present, around 16,489 people in the Horsham district claim a single person discount which gives them 25 per cent off their Council Tax bill.
The council will soon begin an audit of claims to ensure the discount is only going to those residents who are entitled to it.
The discount offers financial support to those people who live alone and genuinely need it.
The audit is due to start in the next few weeks and will last for approximately five months.
