Rail landslip: commuters may face three weeks of disruption
Rail news.
Horsham commuters face a further two to three weeks of disruption due to the landslip between Holmwood and Dorking.
Around 15 metres of embankment slipped during the heavy rain, meaning the track is not supported on one side.
One line remains open and trains are running but there are delays.
Because of the rural location engineers have had to build an access road to get machinery and equipment to the site.
All this means the line could be closed for up to three weeks.
A bus replacement service has been running from Horsham to Dorking, calling at Warnham, Ockley and Holmwood.
