National Lottery fever hits Horsham
THE LUCKY National Lottery terminal at Waitrose in Piries Place, Horsham, has become a magnet for players looking to become the next big jackpot winner.
Lottery operator Camelot says the rush follows Horsham couple Pat and Bob Green's 2,349,055 jackpot win in the Lotto draw on Saturday July 5.
Pat Green bought their winning ticket at the store and business has been booming since, as other lottery players hope that some of her good fortune will rub off on them.
Alan Johnson, manager of Waitrose, in Piries Place, said: "We're delighted that one of our customers bought a winning Lotto ticket in our store. Their win has been the talk of the town.
"Some of the things our customers have been doing to try to bring themselves good fortune have been remarkable. They've been rubbing the Lotto machine for luck or insisting on standing on our 'lucky spot' before buying their tickets. It's quite clear many people are clearly hoping to follow in the footsteps of Pat and Bob Green."
The Saturday July 26 Lotto jackpot is an estimated 4.5m. Every Lotto play slip now comes with its own Dream Number – it is up to players to mark 'yes' to give their Dream Number its chance of winning up to 500,000, or choose a Lucky Dip.
