Catherine Chiputi will be cycling in the main foyer of the Asda store, Battle Road, along with a team of friends. They hope that shoppers will support their bucket collection for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. The charity cared for Catherine’s six year old daughter, Ruby, when she was battling brain cancer. The youngster has now been given the all-clear, so her Mum has pledged to raise funds so that other children can benefit from the ‘hospice at home’ service that they received.

Catherine said: “My daughter has had a long battle against brain cancer. Since the age of two years she has had aggressive cancer treatment. “We’re very happy that Ruby is in remission, but we know that if we need Demelza again they will be there.”

For further information on the charity visit: www.demelza.org.uk or call their local fundraiser Julie Brett on 07917 603075.
