More than 30 roadworks in Horsham

Roadworks

Roadworks

A total of 34 ongoing roadworks in and around Horsham town centre are making driving an ‘absolute nightmare’.

Eleven of these are mark as red - high impact and delays likely - on website Rowadworks.org.

The County Times has been contacted by numerous readers affected by works taking place in Albion Way, under the Royal and Sun Alliance building. The website says these works are due to end on December 31 this year.

Other works creating a high impact on traffic are the A281 Park Way, A24 entry slip road Southbound of Horsham, A281 Brighton Road near Mannings Heath, A24 exit slip road northbound at Broadbridge Heath, Rusper Road, B2195 Crawley Road and Forest Road.

Works are being carried out by BT, UK Power Networks, Southern Water, Southern Gas Networks, West Sussex County Council and Network Rail Infrastructure.

A number of them are not due to end until early next year.

Horsham motorist Susie Marshall said: “Roadworks all around Horsham are an absolute nightmare at the moment, you literally cannot get out of any major road in Horsham without encountering them. On Sunday I spent nearly 20 minutes just sitting in traffic trying to go under the Sun Alliance bridge.”
