Map used in Horsham distraction thefts
A distraction thief is using a London underground tube map to snatch mobile phones from eateries in Horsham, police warn this week.
The man, described to be of Eastern European appearance, places the map over the phone while he distracts his victims by asking directions before swiping it. Horsham police say they are aware of two such incidents taking place in the town centre.
The first was reported at Caffe Nero in West Street at around 1.30pm on Friday February 15.
At this time, he was described as wearing a white T-shirt and black baseball cap. Another theft took place at McDonald’s in the Bishopric at around the same time the following Friday. Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
