This latest venture is the fifth shop for the Trust which currently operates four charity shops across Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill.

For the past 20 years the Sara Lee Trust has provided specialist counselling, creative and complementary therapies and therapeutic group activities to people in Hastings and Rother who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. They are also the dedicated provider of those services to patients of St Michael’s Hospice and the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital.

The charity receives no statutory funding for its core services which are totally reliant on public support and fundraising. Dan Redsull, Trust Chief Executive says the proceeds from their shops form a vital part of the charities annual income. “The income generated through sales of donated goods is critical to our ability to meet local need for our services; which continues to grow,” he said.

“We are delighted to announce therefore that the Trust will be opening a new shop in Ore village, at 460 Old London Road, on Saturday February 27.”.

Emma Dell, Area Retail Manager for the charity said: “The new shop will stock an exciting and varied range of donated goods. All items have been donated and we thank everyone who has made contributions and all our loyal customers for their continued support.”

The Ore shop will open Monday–Saturday 10-4pm. Volunteers are invited to apply to join the friendly team, call Emma on 01424 272 519.
