THERE were smiles all round at The Capitol, Horsham, on Monday (February 13) when the theatre had a visit from a big, cuddly lion cub and some TV stars.
Born Free’s WildcreW free kids’ club mascot Roary went to see CBeebies presenters Chris Jarvis and Pui Fan Lee, who were starring in their Chris and Pui Roadshow 2012.
Roary was keen to see Chris again after he helped to launch the club last year and after the show, Chris, Pui and Roary were in the foyer to meet excited children.
With hugs all round, Chris and Pui signed autographs and had their pictures taken with youngsters and Roary high-fived little ones, who were keen to show him their animal impressions in return.
Queues of children waited with their parents to get much-anticipated signatures with the CBeebies duo, whilst hordes of others flocked to meet Roary, for cuddles.

Born Free staff were on hand to sign children up to the free WildcreW kids club and all those who did were given a free goody pack, with stickers, animal poster, game, WildcreW certificate and badge.
Joanne Bartholomew, who manages Born Free’s events and fundraising, said: “It was amazing to see the children’s reactions to meeting Roary, with so many of them running up for hugs and to sign up to Born Free’s WildcreW club.
“We’re so lucky to have Chris on board to help to support our exciting kids’ club and we hope that all of the children who signed up on the day will log on to the website, get involved and tell their friends to sign up too. What a great day!”
Chris said: “What an honour and how exciting to be involved with Born Free’s kids’ club.
“It’s a great way to learn about the importance of wildlife around the world.
“From the big response so far, it’s reassuring to see that young people are so switched on about all this - perhaps more than any generation before them.”
WildcreW is suitable for children under the age of 13 and every child receives their own certificate of membership, access to a gallery of downloadable animal images and a quarterly WildcreW e-newsletter, containing lots of amazing facts, information, stories, activities and cool wild stuff.
