The winners of the first ever County Times Youth Awards were crowned in front of a packed audience at the Capitol on Tuesday night.

In our eight-page pullout special we have a full report from the event full of smiles and tears, and pictures of all the winners in categories such as sport, music, courage, inspiration, personal achievement, creative arts, and volunteering.

In other Horsham news the opposition group at Horsham District Council has expressed ‘dismay’ at the decision to put Park House on the market, an MP has pledged to abolish the planning inspectorate, residents of Itchingfield are calling for speed restrictions in the village, residents continue to try and raise awareness over plans for massive housebuilding north of Horsham, while the campaign for a new leisure centre in Broadbridge Heath has been re-ignited as users have unveiled ‘The People’s Vision’ for a new facility.

The County Times has also launched its ‘Keep Horsham Special’ campaign, and there are picture spreads of St Mary’s School’s dance display, the grand final of this years Mocktails Apprentice project, a leadership event at Tanbridge House School, and the new playground ‘epidemic’ Loom Bands.

Meanwhile in our South Downs edition HDC has bought the building of the former Millstream Medical Centre in Storrington, Henfield families are appealing for places at the village school, Ashington residents have raised safety dangers over blocked pavements, hundreds of people attended a Pulborough event on oil and gas exploration, and we have a picture spread on Storrington’s Village Day.
