Horsham to host eco event

HORSHAM will host the 2008 Sussex Ecofair.

After the success of the inaugural event in Burgess Hill last summer, the celebration of everything green is moving to Horsham next year.

Horsham Park will be transformed into an ecological wonderland for a day-long celebration of everything environmentally-friendly on Sunday July 20.

Whether you want to know about rainwater recycling, heating systems that use the warmth from the ground, shopping ecologically or having a green wedding – Ecofair 2008 will have all the answers, and more.

The brainchild of ecological architect Joanna Saady, the idea is to create a one-stop shop to buy almost anything, as long as it is sustainable and avoids harm to the environment.

"Thousands of visitors enjoyed the Burgess Hill event," Joanna said.

"And we received enormous support from organisations who gave us their support plus the 60-plus stallholders on the day.

"It was an amazing success which we can build on."

Joanna is planning bigger and better things for Horsham in 2008 where re-cycling and sustainability are already buzzwords in the community.
